Shipping, returns & care

Last updated 21 October 2026

Shipping

  • Packing: each work is wrapped by hand, double-boxed and cushioned for ceramics.
  • Dispatch: within [dispatch time, working days — TO FILL] of payment, with tracking by email.
  • Where we ship: Italy and Europe. The studio confirms the shipping cost, in writing, before you pay.
  • Insurance: every shipment is insured for its full value.
  • Outside the EU (for example the UK or Switzerland): duties, taxes and customs fees are set by the destination country and paid by the recipient.
  • Collect in Milan: free pickup from the studio in Lambrate by appointment. Say so in your email and we will arrange a time.

If a work arrives damaged

  1. Keep all the packaging.
  2. Photograph the box (outside and inside) and the work.
  3. Email the photos to info@dapotterystudio.com, ideally within 48 hours of delivery so we can file the carrier's insurance claim in time.
  4. We will arrange a refund, or a comparable work if you prefer.

Reporting quickly helps the claim; it does not limit your legal guarantee (see the Terms of sale).

Returns

You can return an artwork within 14 days of delivery, no reason needed; the full rules are in the Terms of sale, section 6. Email us first, then return the work packed as it arrived and insured. Return shipping is at your cost. Not returnable: commissions and personalised works, and lessons or workshops with a booked date.

Caring for your work

  • Handling: lift by the body with both hands, never by the rim, handle or neck.
  • Cleaning: dust with a soft dry cloth; a damp cloth is fine on glazed surfaces. No abrasive cleaners, and no dishwasher, microwave or oven.
  • Temperature: avoid sudden changes, such as hot water in a cold piece or a sunny windowsill in winter. Ceramics can crack from thermal shock.
  • Water: unglazed or partly glazed clay can absorb moisture. Use a separate liner for flowers and a felt pad on wooden furniture.
  • Food and drink: works are decorative unless the listing says food-safe.
  • Crazing: fine crackle lines in some glazes are a deliberate surface quality and are noted on the work's page where they occur.
